Hi Guys!

XAMPP - Control ist quit a nice tool.

But is it possible to put the ApacheFriends Apache and MySQL Serice etc to the default Controlpanel / Sharing to de-/activate it from there?

Does anyone already tried that?

Thanks,
kind regards,

Harry

It should be possible... if you know something about programming for Mac OS X.

XAMPP can also be started from the command line (Terminal) with the command
Code: Select all
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp start
(first you need to type 'sudo su' and enter the password of your Mac account, because you need root privileges to start XAMPP)
So it should be possible to create a System panel app and call that command from there. But for that, you need to know how to program applications for Mac OS X.

Hi

the deamon launch system on MacOS x use
there folders
/System/Library/LaunchAgents/
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
/Library/LaunchAgents/
/Library/LaunchDaemons/

MacOS System use org.apache.httpd.plist file to launch apache.
Yous can copy
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist into /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist
you can edit this file with PLIstEditor (developpers tools) is an XML file

an other way is to use Systel Launch Editor like
Lingon => http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/28365
open it and select System Launch Demon and org.apache.httpd
click enabled
you can directly select Xamppctrl
then and "start" in command line and save it

Bye.
