Postby samuele » 26. May 2010 12:24

Hello,
I'm new user of Mac OS X Snow Leopard...

my problem is...

after installing xampp 1.7.3 and run this

/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/xampp security

the config.inc.php in phpmyadmin folder is zero bytes and I can not set the parameter

cfg ['blowfish_secret']

as explained in this post

It seems that running this command

/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/xampp security

from the terminal to fix the security problems, change the file config.inc.php in phpmyadmin folder. Its dimensions are of 0 bytes and the content is empty.

Then when I start phpmyadmin appears this error:

The configuration file now needs a secret passphrase (blowfish_secret)

To correct the error I read this (even if it relates to Linux, I think it's the same thing on Snow Leopard):

Link to Linux Faq

but I can not change anything because the config.inc.php is zero bytes.

How can I fix the error in phpmyadmin?

I'm having the very same problem.

Running

cd /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles
sudo ./xampp security

erases the content of "config.inc.php". phpMyAdmin is unable to load properly without the "config.inc.php" file.

Is there a workaround for this or should I just erase XAMPP and re-install it?

Hi,

I had the same problem.
I worked around it by creating a new config.inc.php out of the config.sample.inc.php, which is a basic sample configuration.
Seems to work for me, phpMyAdmin doesn't ask for the Passphrase any more.

Hope this helped.
Regards,
Michael
