os x 10.5.6 security set up: easy solution?

Postby jimmmy » 14. May 2010 18:08

Hi,

I have xampp installed on my computer, but am unable to set up the security settings.

When I enter /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security into the terminal, the wizard doesn't start.

i am logged in as admin, and I've enabled root user, but it says I must be root to perform the action. I thought I was root!

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I new to the mac and the terminal!!!

Thanks!

Jimmy

ps, using sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/xampp security prompts me for a password, but my root password is not accepted, and it says 'sorry, try again'...

Hm, what happens when you type
Code: Select all
sudo su
and then type the password for the administrator account of your Mac? (You don't see an indication that you're typing your password).
If something like 'sh-3.2#' comes up, try again to start the security program.
