How do I make directory writable? Mac

Postby cagecafe » 30. March 2010 08:17

How do you get XAMPP to let you write to files?
I'm on a mac.
I installed wordpress and can not import XML file or change any settings.
I also can't upload to the wordpress up load folder.

I tried to give global privieges but that didn't seem to do anything.
Thanks

Hi Cagecafe,

Did you find an answer by any chance? I am at a loss with this. I have trawled the net for hours. LoCheers,

You problem is probably not with XAMPP's files or folder but with mySQL permissions or user passwords for the Wordpress database. Try using myPhpAdmin to change the passwords and permissions of the database that Word Press uses. It looks to me like the Wordpress installer screwed up. You might ask the Word Press board for help on this.

Have you resolved this issue? I am having similar problems. I have looked at PHPMyadmin and I have all oermissions. Perhaps this is not what I am meant to be looking at?
