Dreamweaver CS3 won't connect to databse

Postby buzzvick » 12. March 2010 02:36

Hi...I have installed Xampp for MAC on my computer and can see the pages on lolcalhost ok. I have set up a test databse so it all seems to be running ok.
Problem is my I set up a new site in DWCS3 and try to create a new connection to a database (PHP/MySQL) I get this error.........
"
HTTP Error Code 404 File not Found. here are some possible reasons for the problem:
1. There is no testing server running on the server machine ( I don't think this is the case or I would not see the pages I see on http://localhost right?)
2.\The tesing server specified for this site does not map to the http:127.0.0.1/-mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Verify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site. "

So I'm not sure what to try next. Any help muchly appreciated.
Thanks

1. You are right, when you see the XAMPP pages when typing http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 your server is running.
2. The path you've given looks incorrect. In Finder go to /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs. Does there exists a folder named '-mmServerScripts'? If there is a folder with that name, look if there is a file MMHTTPDB.php inside that folder. I'm also not sure if the first part of the path is correct. I'm used to always use http:// instead of http:. I think your first try could be at best change the path to http://127.0.0.1/. I don't know where you can change it in Dreamweaver, because I don't use Dreamweaver.
