Memory error while trying to install apps

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1024 bytes) in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/mysite/libraries/domit/xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 135

Does anyone know what to do about this? I looked at the file referenced and can't determine what to do. I have 4 GB of memory running on a iMac
Any help would be greatly appreciated .
