Help with an Uncommon error

Postby infiniteDesigner » 20. October 2009 10:32

Well I am still trying to figure out wether this error was induced by my system but I just thought someone here might know the solution so I'll go for it. Well even when I uninstall XAMPP off my mac os x system...and re-install a new XAMPP in the Applications folder it goes smoothly. There after I start my XAMPP control panel and enter the relevant username and password to grant it system admin previledges...thereafter it brings up an error message that says

"It appears that you do mot have Xampp installed correctly.
It has to be installed in /Applications/ xampp/"

This happens even after I re-install nomatter how many more times I do this. Please can anyone Help me. Please can you direct me to the perfect place I can try to resolve this if this is not possible.

Thank You.

Yep, that is a kown Problem with the Control Panel which sometimes happend.
Open a Terminal an execute this:
Code: Select all
defaults write org.apachefriends.XAMPP_Control SkipLocationCheck -bool true

This disabels the Location check of XAMPP Control.

KleinWeby,

wow..thanks for the quick response. I have been frustrated with this and I thought it was uncommon because I could find it anywhere on Google search. I unfortunately uninstalled xampp and installed mamp but I know I will re-install xampp just to get over that little hurdle.

Thanks alot,
Cheers.
