Can't start XAMPP Control.app

Postby ttjess » 13. August 2009 20:46

I'm having a problem starting XAMPP. I download the install and dragged the XAMPP folder to the Applications folder. When I try to double-click the XAMPP Control, it acts like it's going to start and then nothing. I do not get the screen to start apache, etc. I had XAMPP and joomla installed and was having problems with accessing it, so I dragged them both to the trash to start over. Now I can't get XAMPP to work. Any ideas?

Found the answer. I was trying to install version 1.7.2 and it will not work on a powerpc. I uninstalled and reinstalled version 0.7.4 and it will now start. I still can't access it from my pc on the network.

It seems to be the application XAMPP Control which does not work on PPC processors.
To start the servers you need not to uninstall XAMPP 1.7.2 and reinstall XAMPP 0.7.4.

Please open the Terminal, type the following line, and XAMPP will start
Code: Select all
sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xampp start

You will be asked for your password in the script
... that's all.
