(Help Needed) Setting up XAMPP with PHPEclipse in MAC OS X

Postby rukuro » 11. April 2009 12:04

G'day Guys,

Was just looking for some advice on where I can get the relevant information for pointing to the correct files within PHPEclipse to XAMPP. I have only had luck finding a guide for Windows & XAMPP.

The following details are what I need to point to inside PHPEcilse:

Run PHP Command:
Parser Command:
Start Apache:
Stop Apache: (stop?)
Restart Apache: (restart?)
Apache: (/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/mammp?)
Path to http.conf (I believe its /Applications/XAMPP/etc/httpd.conf)
Path to etc/hosts:
Start MySQL (startmysql?)
MySQL
XAMPP Start
XAMPP Stop

I have attached images to clarify what I am after exactly if the above request doesn't make sense.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to find the home/where these items are stored on your hard drive. If that is what you need, Mac OS X stores items like so:

/Applications/Xampp/(go from here to get what you need)

but it starts looking in

/Users/(whatever)

So you will need to go up to /

then Applications

Then Xampp

then find what you need

I have never used Ecilpse, so I hope that helps, I know no more!

Good luck!
