Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I'm very used to XAMPP on windows. It's pretty simple.... cd xampp/mysql/bin
then just type in mysql -u root
but on mac osx, it seems things have been turned around. i've been trying to find the root directory and have been unsuccessful for a prompt (where mysql command is recognized). does someone know where it's at?? or are you even able to logon to mysql via mac's terminal???
Thanks a bunch!
Paul

I have found the problem
it's because you have to put a ./ before you enter your mysql prompt
#> ./mysql -u root
instead of
#> mysql -u root
whew... i was goin crazy there for a second
