Install MySql/PHp Program

Postby Raymond65 » 17. January 2009 05:26

I installed xampp on my computer and everything works well. Now I want to install a MySql Php program on my local server, but I cannot get it done.

On my host server, I don't have a problem to install the program.

Somebody can help me out?

It's just a program with a installation procedure, but I need to install it on my computer

Thanks

Ray

Hello Ray,
It might help with troubleshooting your issues to know which php program you are having these install issues with.

Then perhaps it can be installed or has been installed previously by a member so as to see what the requirements are, or at least perhaps a link to the app's web site would be most helpful.

Also post the details of what you may have tried already to install it.
Thanks

Hi,
I want to install http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin/ on my local server

Also i have another program to test, but I tried to install Zend, but gives errors

Maybe it's better to install OSX server on my computer?

Thanks

Can this even be installed on OSX as I don't see a download version nor do I see it in the Technical Requirements on the Demo page:
Demo Page wrote:Technical Requirements.

Dolphin requires at least 20Mb of space and 1Mb of MySQL DB space for installation.

Your host must have any Linux/Unix OS (RedHat, Debian, FreeBSD, Mandrake, etc). NOTE: SAFE_MODE must be OFF, register_globals must be OFF.

Or Windows OS with Apache Web Server, MySQL and PHP (WAMP).

PHP version 4.3.6 and higher with XML and XSL extensions and with mbstring support, exec() must be allowed, allow_url_fopen must be On;

MySQL version 4.1.2 and higher;

ImageMagick (for photos resize) or GD Library as an alternative;

Cron Jobs (Shell access (SSH) or other access to set Cron Jobs (CPanel, Plesk)) for Linux platforms.
Otherwise you will not be able to install and operate Dolphin properly.
This may be why you can't install it.

Link to Dolphin Documentation in various languages:
http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolphinDocs

This from their Q&A to a question:
How do I install Dolphin

Please follow detailed installation instructions for Dolphin
http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolInstallation
and Ray
http://www.boonex.com/trac/ray/wiki/RayInstall

BTW is your XAMPP installed correctly and in working order?
Can you access the Welcome Page and the demos from http://localhost menu items?

If so then future requests for help with third party script installation should really be addressed to the script author's web site for perhaps the best help available.

Good luck.
