Theme Path Not Found

I've been up and running for awhile and now, out of nowhere, I'm not able to launch pma. I get the following warning and error:

Warning: Theme path not found for theme ! in /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/phpmyadmin/libraries/Theme_Manager.class.php on line 237

Fatal error: Call to a member function getName() on a non-object in /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/phpmyadmin/libraries/common.inc.php on line 654

I've been working on the warning, hoping that it will take care of the error.

I've read as many postings as I could find (here and other forums) and have tried the following:
1) deleted all cookies
2) cleared browser cache
3) verified that the ini.php directive for session.save_path is set to a directory that has write privileges

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
