Install Python on XAMPP?

Hi there, I am looking to get up and running with some Django.. I don't have a clue what I am doing.

Could someone link to a tutorial or provide me with some simple steps to get this going?

I do not have a Mac, does it have something like a package manager? If yes, try to install Python from there. Otherwise go to http://www.python.org/download/ , download the First file (Python 2.5.2 compressed source tarball (for Unix or OS X compile)) and install it.
