XAMPP INSTALLED, BUT DOESN'T RUN

Postby tb41469 » 30. May 2008 10:06

I recently moved to a new mac with leopard and have succefully installed xampp, but when going to http://localhost/ I still get the Apache default page which tells me the server has been installed sucessfully. I have tried to start and stop xampp in control panel and terminal, restart computer, and checked system prefernes. Does anyone have a suggestion to get it running on localhost? I have also uninstalled and followed directions. I moved all files over from old mac including xampp and not sure if there is a problem with that?

Thanks, Chris

Aside from your web pages what else did you copy over?

If you moved Xampp files accross; by way of the Terminal, delete Xampp with: rm -rf /Applications/xampp

Do a fresh install. Don't copy anything over from the other machine except web pages and dbs you created.

1. download xampp, 2. run the xampp package ( this installs xampp to the applications folder) 3. open terminal and type sudo su 4. then type /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/mampp start 5. go to system prefs and click sharing 6. click the web sharing option 7. the two paths with ip addresses in them to the right are your paths to your sites folder and to xampp folder.

i believe you have to configure the path in httpd.conf file.
