Perl scripts will not run in the browser

I've been trying to get the perl interpreter working in scripts in the cgi-bin to no avail. I use the path #!/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/bin/perl at the start of my test script, but I just get a blank screen when I access the script via the browser. In the terminal, the script runs fine.

I should also note that this is a default installation of xampp, and an unchanged httpd.conf.

I would really appreciate any advice as to how I can get my perl scripts running in the browser.

r u sure that ur perl is running from Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/bin/perl when u run it from the terminal? or was it actually using the perl from /usr/bin/perl instead?
