http://localhost/ returns http://localhost/xampp/index.php and all is well.
http://localhost/xampp/htdocs/index.html returns "Not Found The requested URL /xampp/htdocs/index.html was not found on this server." Likewise http://localhost/htdocs/index.html what am I doing wrong, please?

Both URIs don't exists in a standard XAMPP installation. Why do you use them? Or what do you want to do?

Hmm. I guess I was completely confused. Obvious http://localhost/ is the htdocs directory but because http://localhost/ resolved in the address bar to http://localhost/xampp/index.php I misinterpreted. Sorry, and thanks for the quick response!

I'm getting the same problem because I used xampp last night and it worked fine but this morning when I tried to use it i get this......

The requested URL /xampp/index.php was not found on this server.

I have to write it in this way as when I type in http://localhost/

I get something called
A test page from Apache Installation

I'm using Leopard so I don't know if that makes any difference but as I said before I used this yesterday and it was fine and I don't want to loose the work that I did yesterday. So can you please help
