xampp is operational, can't seem to make it view my files...

okay, so earlier, I figured out how to install xampp, and get it to work. everything is operational, everything under http://localhost is working fine.

my problem is however, I have php files elsewhere on my computer, not under "applications". Xampp is located in "/applications", the files I'm trying to view is under
"/Users/RRR/Documents/"

basically, my documents.

is there a way to have xampp view everything in that folder so I can view all my .php files there?

Dear Sir,

you have two options actually.
You may use mod_userdir which already has a sample configuration in the default apache configuration, or you may completely move the DocumentRoot which is also located in the Apache configuration files.

Dear Sir,

it's a part of the Apache Modules.
You can configure it to use a public_html folder in your Users Homedirectoy for example.

Sorry I can't give any further support, but I currently don't really have the time.

okay, so in the terminal, I type in "/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/modules/mod_userdir.so"

this is what I got

Code: Select all
y-macintosh-computer:/Users/RRR root# /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/modules/mod_userdir.so

su: /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/modules/mod_userdir.so: Permission denied

I'm not sure why it says "permission denied"

I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.
