MySQL password change (not successful).

Hi,

Re: Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole.

I'm a newbie to XAMPP for Mac OS X and would like to change the MySQL password. From what I understand by default there is no password.

I've manually edited config.inc.php but don't think that i've gone about this correctly as the following error message appears:

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Any suggestions on how to correctly configure the config.inc.php file would be appreciated.

Thank you.
