mysql deactivated and no command found

Hi,

I managed to start xampp on my computer and found out that the mysql is deactivited.

I tried to follow those commands to start up the mysql (I noticed that you have problems with mysql -- I have Panther version)

Here's the excerpt from the terminal:

127:/Users/rav root# /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/mampp start
Starting XAMPP for MacOS X 0.5...
XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP4)...
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...
XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD...
XAMPP for MacOS X started.
127:/Users/rav root#
127:/Users/rav root# cd /Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/
127:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles root# sudo su
127:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles root# mampp startmysql
su: mampp: command not found
127:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles root# mampp startmysql
su: mampp: command not found
127:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles root#

How do I start mysql manually?

Thanks!

127:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles root# mampp startmysql
su: mampp: command not found

To use a program in the actually working directory you must prepend the name with a "./":
Code: Select all
./mampp startmysql
