quick question: where to save files

Hello,

I had a question. Where do we save .php files to get them to be access and debugged on local host. I am using dreamweaver to create the page and when I go to preview the page its giving me an error of not finding the right host directory.

save your files in htdocs, when setting up in dreamweaver setup the testing server as local/network and have the path as http://localhost/yourdirectory/index.html
