How to install Joomla!4

Postby eggpap » 30. January 2023 21:04

Hello,

I have XAMPP 8.2.0-0 installed on a Mini M2
MacOS Ventura 13.2.
I have Apache Web Server, ProFTPD and MySQL running.
I have Joomla 4.2.6 installed in XAMPP/htdocs/dlfpistoia.eu

Be kind, please:
what's the correct localhost url to run the Joomla! installation?

Many thanks,
Emiliano

Many thanks and sorry for this late reply.
But the Joomla installation don't start. More exactly the procedure asks:
1.- the language and the site name
2.- the true superuser name,
3.- the superuser account username (the same as at the previous point),
4.- the password and the email address.

Then it proceeds to the Database Configuration asking for

5.- the Database type (MySQLi),
6.- the host name (I've written localhost in the field),
7.- the username (the same as that at point 2)
8.- one password (the same as that at point 4)
9.- the db name (that selected in phpmyadmin to create the database)
10.- accepted the randomly generated tables prefix
11.- encrypted connection predefined.

At this point I press the Install Joomla button, but almost instantly I get the following error message:
Access denied for user 'eggpap'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Sorry for this long reply.

you need to create the user first for example with phpmyadmin

I forgotten to say that I created the database and one superuser account before to link to localhost/dlfpistoia.eu
but I get the same error.

but MariaDB has the opinion that the user with this password given is not valid. so maybe you should analyse if you did something wrong here?!

you did not give much detailed information, so noone else can tell you much about that
