Reinstalling XAMPP

Postby temsgen » 21. August 2018 15:54

Hello there fellow XAMPP users!

I'm in need of help here and perhaps someone in this forum can help me out.

I'm using XAMPP for wordpress, but along the way I seem to have messed up.
So here's the thing, I'm trying to reinstall XAMPP so that I can have a totally fresh and untouched version.
I move XAMPP to the trash and empty it, and when reinstall it, I can still find wordpress in it (htdocs). Why is this? Is there another way one can delete XAMPP completely?

I have tried some of the suggestions in the following link but doesen't work for me.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25286958/how-can-i-delete-xampp-permanently-on-mac-os

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me figure it out!

For some reasons, you installed XAMPP-VM (VM = Virtual Machine), which does not install to your local file system, but to a virtual file system. Deinstall that installation and download one of the many "normal" installers which install to your file system.
