Xampp 1.8.3-2 keine Verbindung zu MySQL Database

Wer hat eine Idee, wo das Problem liegt? Wenn XAMPP neu installiert wird, dann funktioniert es ohne Probs. Einen Tag später bei Neustart des Systems ( OS X 10.6.8 ) startet MySQL nicht mehr. Der Apache Webserver startet problemlos.
