I have made an installation script for super lazy xamppietes
http://pagux.com/gpl/xampp.sh
it will search for xampp version ->2) automatcally download it if xammp not found 3) un gzip and untar it 3) Check if previous xampp installation is there if yes -> 3.1 ) stop xampp and make and backup 4) After that it copy xampp to /opt/xampp 5) run the service 6) open xammp site in web browser !!
