how to load mcrypt in php when xampp is restarted

I've been having this issue since one month ago and no one has been able to give a right hint to solve this.

I need to do an upgrade of another software that runs on apache but whenever I try to run it I got the message "mcrypt library is not currently loaded with php".
I did change the php.ini file in order fro mcrypt to load from the beginning but it doesn't work.

Any help would be highly appreciated

My server is running solaris 10 and I have installed xampp 0.9
