Error 1! Couldn't start Apache!

Postby tans » 06. December 2006 19:47

I installed xampp for solaris into a custom directory not /opt/xampp. I started xampp and it asked me if I wanted to change my directory to the current directory I was working in; I said "yes".

It then told me an apache daemon as already running on port 8080. I checked port 8080 and found out that was true. I then went into ../xampp/etc/httpd.conf and changed the "Listen 80" to "Listen 8081" and changed the "xampp_apacheport" variable in ../xampp/xampp to 8081 instead of 8080.

I started xampp again (../xampp/xampp start) and it gave me an error. I looked into ../xampp/logs/apachestart.log :
Code: Select all
(13)Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

I checked port 443 and there is no activity on it. How can I fix this error to start apache?
