Marknote KDE’s WYSIWYG Note-Taking Application for Linux

we show whats in it - and we compare it with Obsidian and Notion: Which Note-Taking Tool Is Best? and what with the OpenSouce-System AFFiNE

i have tested Notion and Obsidian and besides this - finally also AFFiNE.

well one week ago Marknote came, KDE’s New WYSIWYG Note-Taking Application for Linux :: the application is designed for the KDE Plasma desktop environment ( see https://apps.kde.org/de/marknote/ ) Marknote lets you create rich text notes and easily organise them into notebooks. You can personalise your notebooks by choosing an icon and accent color for each one, making it easy to distinguish between them and keep your notes at your fingertips. Your notes are saved as Markdown files in your Documents folder, making it easy to use your notes outside of Marknote as well as inside the app. you can do lots of things with it: it lets you create so called rich text notes: after creation you can organize them into notebooks.

well lets have a look at the competitors: well - AFFiNe is the only one that is open-source

overview: digital note-taking software has been coming more and more in handy in the last decade.
Many systems were developed sustainably: They come with a bunch of great features and options.
Good times - since luckily, we have quiet more than a ton of note-taking options, apps and programs out there - all of those
do a great job. This simple fact guarantees us that we are in a awesome position:

imagine if we look for a certain feature - note taking, knowledge storing and capturing for example. Well - if its stands so, then we’ll sure find the one that meets—or even exceeds—our ideas, whishes and expectations. if you want to get an overview see Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: The tables below compare features of notable note-taking software. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compariso ... g_software

here we have a nice overview on many many different systems: but be aware - not all note-tacking software offers the same depth or variety of features tools that help us and enhance our workspace and our experience. Even with tons of note-taking options that are on the market i think only a few ones just dominate the market:

for me - Notion, Obsidian and AFFiNe are some of the most important systems out there:

in earlier times (years before) some of the note-taking stars have been for example Obsidian and Notion. Many people have been undertaken the task to
compare those systems: Did you ever compare those with each other!? Well - such a comparison of those might be helpful to see a short breakdown of everything they bring to the table in terms of features, options and more.

my background: in earlier times i used Evernote: i was completely on Evernote - it was nice and at univeryitiy i have had many friends that used evernote. At the moment i look for a user friendly tool on linux computer and Android phone. so i currently am testing AFFiNe, Notion and Obsidian; and yes i must say: well i am thinking to keep the three systems as a kind of a smart tools.

Question: Which one would you recommend and why? here some first findings: obsidian - Obsidian: here we can use so called markdown language to create our notes. Obsidian (at least for me) has a very very special data-setup: it has got a knowledge graph structure where all our notes are interconnected through a so called bi-directional linking-System. Well i think we can call this a knolwdge-graph that is created.

notion on the opposite is completely different. some of my friends used to be a pretty intense Notion user but two of them have recently split up what they used Notion for into multiple apps. There were a couple reasons they made the jump from Notion.

a.) Notion unfortunatly is poor for offline-use: that said i think that we can say it offers no offline support. i use notion now for years - and i miss such feature and options that support this kind of work with notion: just offline..So we have a big big thing that we want to be added: the option to be able to work offline: Well, this is probably one of the biggest drawback that i and many many of my friends (that also use for their daily live for note taking and knowledge storing) people may complain about with the knowledge . management system called Notion but it is one that i have on the whishilist since years - so we can say - this is a pretty big one. Imagine you are in the outback and offline for weeks. Imagine: Being able to get at the notes you have taken - this is pretty important: a crucial thing:

b.) Notion can be nevertheless called as a think like (some of my friends say so:) "jack of all trades" notion: it uses database structure,

c.) AFFiNE the new (est) note-taking-apps: here a interesting online review - AFFiNE Pro Review: Notion & Miro's Baby
