Are you a PHP pro?

Allerlei halt. ;)

Are you a PHP pro?

Postby Dawn » 02. February 2006 16:43

//////////////////////////////

Here is my story.

I stumble on an awesome PHP UI called Prado. But, alas, it requires PHP 5 and my service provider for some reason is stubbon and wants to wait a few months before upgrading to PHP 5. (But another service provider where I do my testing first does upgrade... but I am hesitant of moving all my code -- SQL Too -- to another provider.

Then I find on HotScripts.com They recommed a CMS called TYPO3. Looking at TYPO3's website, I see that the screen shots look cool. So I start learning TYPO3.

Then someone recommends XOOPS instead because it is easier to use. So now I am studying XOOPS.

But while I am working to learn XOOPS, and TYPO3, people tell me about JOOMLA, MAMBA, and something called PHP NUKE.

So, ok, I might get these too.

But before I do, can anyone tell me why I might be getting these PHP warning messages at the bottom of this page:

It meant what it says ;) Only Variable should be assigned by reference. It isnt a error, but a notice. somewhere deep in the code the programer assign functions or methods as reference.

References explained

@ Dawn,
before you use any automated translating page, please don't provide it here.
When someone could not read english, he could use themself translating programs.
For your cms problem: www.opensourcecms.com/ and/or http://cmsmatrix.org/ that i know since today :)

First you have to know what you realy want and need and then you could decide what you are test or not.
Byside php there are some other programing languages like python, ruby and java.

Typo3 is a very nice but also very complicated OpenSource CMS.

Typo3 has its own Script Language called TypoScript so if you just decide to work with Typo3 to realize your Website remember that you will need several moths to finish it if you are a Typo3-noob.

But in my opinion is Typo3 the mightiest CMS, but it works only if you know what you want and if you know how to satisfy your conception.
