Autostart XAMPP manager (gui) on ubuntu startup

Postby mlw19mlw91 » 05. December 2023 06:30

I have xampp autostarting just fine, but, I am having excessive trouble getting the GUI to autostart, something I really want to do.

Has anyone been successful in doing so?

I tried:
~/.config/autostart/
nano xampp-manager.desktop

and I tried putting this in the file:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=XAMPP Manager
Exec=sudo env DISPLAY=$DISPLAY XAUTHORITY=$XAUTHORITY bash -c "sleep 10 && /opt/lampp/manager-linux-x64.run > $(xdg-user-dir DESKTOP)/xampp-manager.log 2>&1"
Type=Application
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true

but it didn't work.
I've tried lots of other things aswell with no luck.
The best I can do is have a password prompt pop up on login, but the gui doesn't start after.
or, it starts, and I can see it in the task bar, but it only flashes there for a split seccond and it's gone again. It doesn't stay there.

Suggestions?
