Can I run Samba with XMAPP? I have a need to create network shares.

What do you mean by "with Xampp"? They do not collide. Xampp is a webserver distribution and Samba is a protocoll. Of course you can install Samba and Xampp both on a PC, no matter which operating system. Samba is the microsoft windows network protocoll.

Many NAS are running a linux OS, offer network shares based on Samba and come with preinstalled Apache, PHP, Mysql webserver (as well FTP) like my Qnap NAS at home.
