XAMPP 7.4.10 missing mysql extension ?

Postby alain.roger » 26. October 2020 23:24

Hi,

i installed XAMP 7.4.10 on KUbuntu 20.04 and while it is working with phpmyadmin, i have some issue to use WP-CLI.
when i use wp info command line, terminal returns :
Code: Select all
Error: Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

under windows i was used to check if mysql.dll was installed or declared/enable in php.ini, but under linux there are several lines with:
Code: Select all
;extension=php_mysql.dll
;extension=php_mysqli.dll

but nothing about any .so. Moreover the extension_dir is not declared/enabled and set by default.
While i was looking for the default lib forlder i did see any mysql SO files.
So, i'm confused as in phpinfo, the apache seems to be compiled with mysqlnd API.

What am I missing here ?
thx

I found where was my issue.
The fact is that under Ubuntu another version of php was installed under /etc/php/7.4 and therelative php.ini was used instead of the one in XAMPP
