Installing Xampp error creating directory /opt/lampp

Hi! I'm using the chrome linux feature and am trying to install Xampp. I have got to the installation wizard (finally). However, when I run it I am faced with the error that says: error creating directory /opt/lamp

Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? Thanks.

p.s. i'm pretty inexperienced with this stuff.

You cannot install Xampp by simply clicking the installer. Read the the very first advice "How do I install Xampp?"
