help needed setting up virtual host on apache

hey there.i recently bought a aws ec2.and hosted a php codeigniter site which is accessible vis mysiteip/codeigniterSiteFolder.but then i added a laravel site also to my server.the problem is when i visit the laravel folder i get a folder like structure.i need to visit the public folder inside it to access my page.means my visitors have to type 'mysiteip/laravelFolder/public.i need it to reduce to mysiteip/laravelFolder.i understood virtual host can do it.i tried to duplicate the default virtual host file in apache site available page and pointed it to the var/www/html/laravelfolder/public.but it just not working correctly.pls help

No, virtualhost cannot do that. Instead use an ALIAS for your folder. See https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_alias.html
