Apache2 Compile and build

Can somebody help me to build a custom version of Apache2 from the source package? I am doing this as a part of my project. I tried all the methods available on the internet, but nothing seems to be effective. What my requirement is, I want to create a new deb file and then install that deb file in another machine.
