Feature Request: Make Linux GUI Similar To Windows Version

Postby trymeout » 27. April 2019 04:44

I am switching from Windows to Linux and XAMPP is the only program I have that looks and feels different. I understand it will be different to some extent since there will be no C:/XAMPP directory on Linux but the GUI is different. I liked the XAMPP Windows GUI and how neat and organised it was.

Read Request: simply read the FAQ.

How do I start XAMPP?

To start XAMPP simply call this command:

sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start

You should now see something like this on your screen:

Starting XAMPP 1.8.2...

LAMPP: Starting Apache...

LAMPP: Starting MySQL...

LAMPP started.

Ready. Apache and MySQL are running.

If you get any error messages visit our community pages for help.

Also, note that there is a graphical tool that you can use to manage your servers easily. You can start this tool with the following commands:

cd /opt/lampp

sudo ./manager-linux.run (or manager-linux-x64.run)

Did you read my post. I would like a GUi that looks like the Windows GUI. I am aware of the Linux GUI but it is layout differently than the Windows one.

Are you kidding? Its nearly the same GUI, if this is too difficult for you, go back to Windows, Linux is not suited for your skills.
