How to Disallow Json Files

I am looking for a solution to disallow json based file downloads from my drupal 7 instance without admin authentication. They can be allowed to view the JSON file which is a D3.js visualization. What are all the available solution which I can prevent this within Drupal or Apache level. Is there any module or method to disallow json files from downloads
