Hi, I want to install xampp on linux. But before I do that, I would like to know if xampp installs everyting in one directory (like windows version), or if it installs components normally into OS?

Yes, everything is installed into /opt/lampp (and beyond). Due to the fact, that Xampp is independet from any distribution, there is no other way.

If you prefer an installation "normally into the OS", you must not use Xampp, but use the "normal" server installation from your distribution.
