How to specify a SQL query from a Linux terminal ?

I have installed Ubuntu 15.10 and XAMPP for Linux 5.6.12-0.

For debugging SQL queries, you must ask them from the terminal.

After you start

Starting XAMPP for Linux 5.6.12-0...
XAMPP: Starting Apache...ok.
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...ok.


out what to enter, how to set the SQL query from the terminal ?

Start the mysql interpreter from /opt/lampp/bin/mysql
