Unable to start Apache: undefined symbol

Postby robin_sharp » 19. March 2014 17:09

After installing XAMPP under Ubuntu, I started to test things.
MySQL and PHP work as expected.
But Apache will not start. Error message is:
httpd: Syntax error on line 54 of /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf: Cannot load /opt/lampp/modules/mod_authn_file.so into server: /opt/lampp/modules/mod_authn_file.so: undefined symbol: ap_register_auth_provider

What's the cure? Update the Linux kernel? Update Ubuntu? Or just update httpd.conf?

Regards
Robin
