ftp

I'm running Damn Small Linux (=made of Debian Woody), it's the current stable version, and I have put Xampp 1.5.4 in the opt. directory. Almost everything works.
To have access to the ftp, I need a name for a host. "How do I create an ftp database" with Apache as host?
I need Apache for this, because DSL don't match with Ubuntuone nor Dropbox.
Other possibility's aren't enough reliable, and my LegTux account can't manage large files in ftp.
