XAMPP for Linux 1.8.2-1 ::: NOT WORKING

i'm using ubuntu 10.04 .i had download the XAMPP for Linux 1.8.2-1 from http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html
and i installed it as root after installation..i used this comment to run /opt/lampp/lampp start
but it didn't work .and i found


Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.8.2-1...
XAMPP: Starting Apache...fail.
XAMPP: Another web server is already running.
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...ok.
XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD...fail.
XAMPP: Another FTP daemon is already running.

can u please help me?. how can i fix it.?

Do you have any other servers running? You can check it in a Terminal with the following command "ps aux | grep http"
