Xampp MySql starts ok and then stops

I am having a problem with accessing phpmyadmin.
After starting xampp it says: Starting MySQL...OK
But after doing pgrep mysql and top -p id I can see that mysql proces is not running.
After going to localhost and phpmyadmin the following error occurs:
Any idea how to solve this?

#2002 - No such file or directory
The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).
Any idea how to solve this?
