Extension PHP_ZIP

This is my problem. I have installed XAMPP 1.8.1 for Linux. The running is correct. I need to change php.ini configuration file to activate the PHP_ZIP extension. I do it: I remove the sign ; from the line Extension PHP_ZIP in php.ini. I save the php.ini file. I restart XAMPP and here is my problem: the navigator don't accept any PHP page. I can't show these pages. When I try open a PHP page the navigator (all nagigators) show me the window to open or save the PHP page but it don't open the PHP page.
