Error1! Couldn't Start Apache [Solved]

Postby richlinux » 29. January 2013 05:26

Thanks for your help with this.

Lampp 1.8.1 running in VMware player. It was working fine until I made some changes to access phpmyadmin. The phpmyadmin was giving a not accessible error.

Following another post, I setup lampp security and added "Require all granted" to the httpd-xampp.conf file to enable phpmyadmin. Now after lampp start, the message "Error1! Couldn't start Apache!...Sorry, I have no idea what's going on." appears.

Thanks...

Check your Apache error log. Most likely cause of an Error 1 is invalid Apache Directives or syntax in one of your httpd.conf files. LOL I had one yesterday when adding a vhost to a working lampp install.

Post the tail of the log in your reply.

Good Luck

Thanks very much. Re-checking the httpd.conf file was enough to fix these.
