installing mod_ruby with lampp?

Hello all,

Does anyone here have experience installing ruby, eruby, & mod_ruby under lampp? Ruby and eruby installed perfectly, but when I run ./configure for mod_ruby I get this error:

cannot open /opt/lampp/build/config_vars.mk: No such file or directory at /opt/lampp/bin/apxs line 256.

Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be a build directory in the lampp directory at all. Anyone know how to get around this sort of dependency?
