Xampp Ubuntu 11.10

Hi everyone, I new programming in Linux and I want to install Xampp but I have the following error:
Error 1! Couldn't start apache
I already read that Ubuntu have for default apache2. But I remove it and the error continous appering. I apreciate help. Thanks

The apache error_log may shed some light on this -

Lets take a look at /opt/lampp/logs/error_log

Open it with an editor

or use this command

tail /opt/lampp/logs/error_log

Lets see what Apache thinks is wrong.
