A. Try this:
The user should be 'lampp' and the password you provided when you ran /opt/lampp/lampp security

B: IF that does not work, the easiest thing to do is re-install XAMPP

FIRST - run the commands to remove XAMPP
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html

To uninstall XAMPP just type in this command:

Code: Select all
rm -rf /opt/lampp

THEN re-install.

when you run the security tool - WRITE DOWN YOUR RESPONSES.

Good Luck

I know and remember my login and password that I entered. This is probably a bug in the program.

Then simply re-install it. Maybe your DL was corrupt, I had one of those last week. Did you validate the MD5 checksums???

As no-one else has your issue, I am guessing its not a bug.

Stepan -

I think you may have done something wrong. I can't say what, but you are the only person with this problem.

A. - Did XAMPP/LAMPP work correctly before you ran '/opt/lampp/lampp security' ???

B. - Did you test it before running the security fix???

C. - Please tell me exactly what happened when you ran 'opt/lampp/lampp security' with sudo or as su (root)

D. - The ONLY 'user' the security 'fix' works for is the default user 'lampp', what do you think the username is that you supplied?

One other question - are you using a Cyrillic keyboard???

Good Luck
