phpmyadmin problem :(

i downloaded and installed XAMPP for linux (LAMPP) v. 1.7.4. and I have problem with phpMyAdmin , it wont start , it only display "Existing configuration file (./config.inc.php) is not readable." error
PS i'm on ubuntu 10.10
any ideas how to handle the problem???

Sounds like a permissions problem -
who is the owner of /opt/lampp/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php???
what are the chmod settings on that file currently???

Did you edit the config.inc.php file,
and -lastly- did you chown any of the folders in /opt/lampp ???
