"Page isn't redirecting properly" message

OS: Ubuntu 11.04
When I try to access xampp via local host (http://localhost/xampp/) I get a "The page isn't redirecting properly" message with a suggestion to check cookies. I have tried it but without any success.
I also tried http://localhost/xampp/index.php

I can get other pages (navi.php, phpinfo.php, etc)
