Backup fails after update to new XAMMP version

After updating to the latest release for XAMMP for Linux, the backup routine no longer seems to work. Error is below.


util05:~# /opt/lampp/lampp backup xxxxxxx
Backing up databases...
performance_schema: FAILED

Any help would be appreciated.
